We run one of the agencies on this list. DotVA is ours. Here is the honest map of the Australian VA market anyway, with sources, because buyers deserve one. Every other “best VA agency in Australia” roundup we found while researching this page was written either by a content site that has never engaged any of the companies it ranks, or by an agency listing itself first and sketching its competitors in unflattering miniature. This page aims to be the third thing: a comparison honest enough that the other agencies on it could read it without reaching for a lawyer.
The method is simple. Every factual claim about a competitor below comes from their own published pages or public company profiles, checked in June 2026 and linked in the table. Where a company does not publish a number, we write “not stated publicly” rather than guessing. And where a competitor is genuinely the better pick, the final section says so by name.
How to actually compare VA agencies
Star ratings tell you almost nothing in this market. Review volume mostly measures company age, and the operators here serve very different buyers. Six questions separate them far more reliably.
- Do they publish pricing? Numbers on the page let you budget before you book a call. A consultation-only model is not a trick, but it means you cannot compare on your own timetable.
- What is in the rate? Recruitment, replacement, payroll, infrastructure, management, security setup. Two agencies quoting $15/hr can be selling very different products.
- What are the replacement terms? Every placement model has a failure rate. The question is who carries the cost when it happens, and how fast a replacement lands.
- Who manages the VA day to day? Some operators are fully managed, some provide team leaders and infrastructure while function-level management stays with you, and some are closer to recruiters. None of these is wrong; mismatched expectations are.
- Is AI training part of the placement? In 2026 the output gap between an AI-fluent VA and a non-fluent one is visible week to week. Few agencies state a position publicly.
- Are they specialised in your industry? A financial-planning back office has compliance needs a generalist VA does not cover. In a regulated vertical, specialisation can outrank every other column in the table.

Virtual Coworker publishes the most complete per-role rate card in the market, from $8/hr for general VA and data entry roles to $20/hr for a mobile app developer, with dedicated staff working 20 to 40 hours a week ongoing. VirtualStaff365 is a Melbourne-based operator sourcing staff from the Philippines and South Africa. It publishes example hourly costs excluding GST, with VA and PA roles at $12-15, data entry at $12-14, customer service at $13-15 and bookkeeping at $16-26, and it states there are no setup costs or recruitment fees. VA Platinum is the financial-services specialist. It displays ISO 27001 certification, lists 800+ team members and 370+ clients across offices in Cebu and Davao, and builds dedicated teams for financial planning, mortgage broking and accounting firms among 13 listed industries. Remote Staff has operated since 2007 and says it has supported more than 8,000 remote working relationships. It offers structures most agencies do not: employer-of-record, bring-your-own-staff and recruitment-only models, plus a workforce monitoring tool and a replacement and bench program. Pricing sits behind a calculator rather than on the page, and the platform-style breadth suits process-driven teams more than a founder wanting one managed placement. 24x7 Direct is an Australian BPO with all staff based in the Philippines. HR and infrastructure are managed by the agency with dedicated team leaders, while you train and manage staff on your specific functions, and the positioning is squarely cost-led, claiming savings of up to 70 per cent against local hiring. The homepage shows a $12/hr remote staff comparison against $30/hr local, but we could not find a full per-role rate card in June 2026, so get the role-specific quote in writing. Outsourcing Angel runs tiered packages from recruitment-only through to a full-service package that adds HR admin support, payment management and ongoing upskilling, with a 30-day free replacement guarantee on recruitment. It says it has supported 500+ companies over more than ten years, and it is the only operator on this list positioned as a social enterprise, dedicating 10 per cent of monthly profits to charitable causes in the Philippines and Vietnam. Beepo is the broad-menu operator: 40+ role types across industries from accounting firms to NDIS providers, with Philippines-based staff and a headline claim of up to 70 per cent savings on employment costs. Onshore Australian VAs. If you need an Australian-resident professional for licensing, privacy or simple preference, onshore services publish real numbers too. Marketplaces. The cheapest bare rates anywhere are on the DIY platforms. Upwork’s own guidance puts the median VA at about USD $13/hr, with most between USD $10 and $20 (source). OnlineJobs.ph, the dominant Philippines job board, claims a database of more than five million Filipino jobseeker profiles and charges employers a flat subscription of USD $69-99 a month rather than taking a margin (source). Everything an agency absorbs is on you: screening, contracts, payroll, management, and replacement when someone disappears.
